Heating a metal core significantly increases its malleability during the forming phases when manufacturing a part.

The induction heating technique is especially well-suited for heating various types of billets, bars, tubes or rails before the rolling, reducing, tapering and shrink fitting processes.

The accuracy, flexibility and quick heating of induction is the ideal solution for reaching increased productivity objectives. This heating technique also reduces decarburization that causes the formation of scale ("oven" losses).

Depending on the characteristics of the products being heated, Fives offers a number of treatment options:

• Static or line heating through a tunnel inductor or solenoid

• Line heating in a blanket structure.

Fives generators are designed with very wide impedance ranges, which maintain heat continuity even after the product's magnetic characteristics are changed (beyond the Curie point) when temperatures rise quickly.
